Thanks for the udate on the autoland of the VC10 Tonks & Ian, funnily enough, I have never tried to see whether DaveM had incorporated that on the model. At least I don't think he did.

Nigel.

Well Ben, with that, I think I'm going to have to take the plunge (hopefully not into the r/w) and give it a go. :worried:

Its been a while Nigel, but from memory its more manual than the trident.... actually... umm... maybe I'm mistaken altogether

Maybe not.... taken from the manual...
FLARE
Performs a full autoland using ILS beams, with auto flare & throttle cut before touchdown.
Auto throttle speeds & flap settings still need to be set manually.
Using this mode, the model will follow the ILS down onto the runway. It will perform a flare, cut the throttle back to idle and land gently.
In FS, this auto land function is now 100% reliable in pitch (the auto flare) & can even cope with over or underspeed landings. However, as with all automated ILS approaches in FS, it is prone to directional errors if there is a strong crosswind.
If you are using auto throttle during landing, it is advisable to close your joystick/yoke throttle in FS. If you do not do this, the throttle setting from your joystick/yoke can unexpectedly register after auto throttle is turned off.

Just intercept the ILS as usual and when established select 'Flare' - works a treat :flying:

Ben, it appears a wee bit more manual than the Trident, very nearly dug a hole at the Threshold. :o

Jim, that must be manual flare from my recent experience!!

Nigel.

Whereabouts and what model were you using Nige? I always find it works perfectly...... until I realise I have not disconnected the autothrottle and wonder why my speed is not dropping...... :$
