OK, yes got it Dave...It is a long while since my only flight in a VC10...I had a party of ATC cadets doing AEF and at the time I was a First Officer on BEA Vanguards. I was invited up front and sat in that rear central seat while they did several "engine failure on take-off and assymetric circuit" exercises. Coming from the Vanguard, I was impressed with how very little rudder trim was needed to adjust for a outer engine failure :o ....just a few divisions rather than the several turns of the trim wheel that I was used toDaveB wrote:Hi Peter..
I don't think that's rudder trim.. too far forward. If you note where the pilots hand is, look aft and you'll see the rudder trim. She has her hand on the AP turn control me thinks
Noting the attitudes of both pilots.. I think that shot was taken while on the racetrack. The nav repeater would tend to lean toward this too ;-)

Thanks for the explanation Tonks as thought whilst you took the photographs an airman had come up for a ride and you placed him there just for a few minutes.
For goodness sake don't tell him what I thought....it would really ruin his week-end being thought of as an AC!!
Kind regards
Nigel.
