Re: HS748 in FSX
Hi Sammach
the model is not for FSX
you cannot install it into FSX the same way as FS9.
there is another thread here with a self installer version for FSX that puts everyting in the right place with no guesswork.
have a look there and you will be fixed

How do I activate the reverse propellor pitch on the HS748? I have skimmed through the manual, but I couldn't see anything.

Re: HS748 in FSX
Hello Mate..
I use the F2 key in FS9. Not sure if this still applies in FSX though

Re: HS748 in FSX
The F2 key is assigned to "decrease throttle quickly" (which I have been told means reverse thrust in Microsoft language  ), but I wanted to assign a joystick button to this. So I did. Except it didn't work. And I ended up overshooting the runway at Biggin Hill by a hundred feet or so
If I assign a joystick button to this, do I only need to press and hold the button, or do I need to do anything else to "select" the reverse propellor pitch?

Re: HS748 in FSX
The 748 didnt have Reverse Thrust per se Mogget
All the F2 buttonj does is put the props into a "beta" type state if I remember correctly from beta testing it
I managed to fly the beta successfully in and out of Moontown airport in Huntsville Alabama (a 2800 foot grass
runway) while others flew the beta model in and out of Emma Field , without reverse - just use the speed card
that was thoughtfully provided for you and fly the VAT for the weight and you should be able to stop anywhere
even probably your grannies back yard.

Re: HS748 in FSX
Leif,
I don't fly planes liike the rest of you. I set the trim and flaps for take off, and then cruise around (quite often with the gear down) at the minimum speed that I can get away with. That allows me to control the plane entirely with the throttle. A difficult exercise, but I prefer to "hand fly" planes like that. It's good for low speed, low altitude VFR flights.
As far as I am aware, "reverse propellor pitch" results in something quite similar to reverse thrust. Is that correct? Based on turboprop planes that I have seen landing in the real world, it certainly seems to have that effect (eg. the Jetstream 41).
After further testing, the F2 key appears to do the job, but the button that I have assigned seems to only work when it feels like it

Re: HS748 in FSX
......may go back to the controls in FS and at the far right of the list
you can move the slider to the far right , (repeat button press)
then when you activate the reverse "hold the button for two sec. and watch the levers move back.
Garry R. had told me what that setting accually does on the 748 , but I can't remember.
my problem is I can't get the thing to fail
I've flown the thing for a long time with all the electrical switches Off all of em bat-tree included
and it keeps on chuggin along.... I must have downloaded the Super 748.
will somebody please break it for me.. :000:

Re: HS748 in FSX
Make sure you have the realism sliders set full right Joe......then things will "fail" pretty darn quick....

Re: HS748 in FSX
Thanks Tony
here's the what i got , which you know anyways since we have shared the same airspcae a number of times..
all sliders to right
pilot controls lights
enable gryo drift
detect crash
aircraft stress causes damage
allow collision with others
engine stress causes damage
and no sissy auto rudder or unlimited fuel
also no black or red, which I never see anyways, cause ...I ate all my vegtables when I was a kid. ;-)
