Have you selected 'Repeat' on your joystick selection?? That should do the trick me thinks
Yes, I have. At first, it didn't save the "Repeat" part, but when I tried again, it seemed to save it. Unfortunately, pressing the button after I had landed did nothing, but it had worked when I tested it before take off!

Aaarrgghhh!!!!

Deary me.. sri mate but I think that's me out of ideas. I have it working faultlessly in FS9 but have yet to try it in FSX.. primarily because I rarely use FSX. Hopefully.. one of the FSXers will be able to get to the bottom of it for ya ;-)

joystick calibration dead zone, if the throttles are not seen as fully closed, you wont get reverse thrust..

trying to stop concorde without reveres thrust...well that leads to a certain amount of excitment..

and now in concorde, testing reverse thrust before take off LoL

any chance there is a control for anything having to do with throttles or props , ..anything like that under the tabs in settings - controllers ?
a hidden conflict , maybe?

nope

checked that ages ago.

FSX seems to have lost a fair bit of functionality on parts like this.

Reverse pitch works fine in FSX....as Tomb said its all about the deadzones....set the zone in calibration to about a quarter...

then set up a button that can do the F2 job with repeat turned on and slider to the right...

And hey presto.....reverse pitch on touch down with the throttle shut and you should see a vast improvement and response....

The 748 works a treat in FSX for me....

Thanks, guys. I will check out the joystick dead zone, and report back if reverse propellor pitch starts working. It would have been handy last night when I landed the 748 at Blackbushe. I stopped the plane just a few feet from the boundary fence!

I increased the "null zone" for the throttle to about 25%, but the button still failed to activate reverse thrust when I landed. Fortunately, I was at Bournemouth, so I had plenty of runway to play with.

I really don't understand why MSFS has problems of this kind with reverse thrust. I remember similar issues in FS2002. Why can't there just be a reverse thrust option (instead of the really dumb "decrease throttle quickly")? Looking Glass Studios had this nailed in Flight Unlimited III a decade ago, so I fail to understand why FSX has issues with it.
