What amazes me about this incident is the self-righteous belief of some on other forums that they should have access the pictures and video and how dare ‘CWJ’ try to suppress them from being released.
What actually happened is; five-ten minutes after the incident the announcer asked (and I stress asked, not demanded) if the crowd would refrain from posting any media on the internet. It was felt that there was a very real chance doing so could jeopardise any future events.
That’s it, nothing more. They haven’t been pulling pictures and youtube videos of the net. How could they, they don’t have the Godlike power of some black ops government agency.
No, instead the ‘Cover up’ actually appears to be the collective decision of the crowd to observe the polite request. They own the copyright to their photos/video, they decide whether or not to release their media into the public domain . . . and they’ve decided not to.
As a result those demanding that they have a right to see these photos/video can bleat all they want. Sorry, but no you're not entitled to see them and it’s got nothing to do with the omnipotent ‘CWJ’. You’ll just have to respect the decision of the copyright holders.
(I must at this point add that I myself asked Tweek if he would PM me his photos after he initially offered them out (try finding that post, another example of the power of CWJ even in our quiet back water, Mwwahhh ha ha :000: ). However, he’d had a rethink and rescinded the offer. That’s his right to do so, and I understand and respect his decision.)
Amazingly, as far as I can see, only three individuals out of the thousands present on Saturday have seen fit to post their photos. One of those, a member of the Beech Restoration Group based at Brunters, rapidly removed his picture from the Flypast forum. The only reason he’d had posted was because he was at the ‘Beech Boys’ hangar and therefore out of earshot of the loudspeaker.
Finally I’d say that the organisers (probably ad hoc) request appears to have done the job. Although in our world the various forums catering to our interest are understandably awash with ‘Victor Airborne’ the incident hasn’t made it into the real news. Two days after the event I suspect it now wont having already become old news (Unless of course the Daily Mail get wind of it and then we’re done for!!!! :doho: ).

PS. The youtube video linked to by Tony depicts the incident exactly as I remember it!!!
