I've not tried landing and launching yet as I couldn't find the carrier last time I tried, it sailed off!
To launch I guess I taxi over the shuttle, do the required key combo to hook up and then launch?

If you have the SDK installed, you can easily locate the carrier(s) using the Traffic Toolbox Explorer.

Open the Explorer window and UN-check the "Aircraft only" box.
Look down the list for the "veh_car01_high_detail_sm" entries or whatever the title is for the
carrier you are looking for.

Highlight a CV entry. Right-click on the entry and select "Set Position...".
You then see the current Lat/Lon and heading of the carrier.
Copy and paste the lat/lon/hdg values to a temporary text file with notepad
or just write the data down. The HDG value isn't needed if you just want
to 'get close'.

Next, locate your aircraft in the Explorer list and right-click on your aircraft.
Select "Set Position..." and then simply copy and paste ( or enter )
the lat/lon/hdg data from the text file into the appropriate boxes.

Click "OK" and you should be teleported to the carriers location.

This method can also be used to put yourself on the deck of a moving
CV as well but the procedure is a bit more complicated and necessitating the
use of the "Slew" mode.

I've posted this info in various places on the FSX-related forums from time
to time but I don't have a link to post.

You might also want to look into installing Lamont Clark's aicarriers2 which will
allow you to place and control a CV or entire fleet from free flight. A drop-down
menu allows you to select the CV or fleet and then you place it either at your
current location, 1 mile or 10 miles ahead. This is very handy if you want fleets
to practice with without having to start or fly to locations of the 'pre-programmed'
fleets.
