That's right mate. One of my girls said last week 'how many sleeps is it now' and I had no idea what she meant until it was explained. Since then, I've had little else on my mind One more sleep it is then poor Kwak goes out into the cold I've had an offer of a temporary home in one of my staff's garages for her. Think I might take them up on the offer as at least she'll be out of the weather.

Tinkered them by myself, as the purchaseable ones were way too expensive for me.
Not aesthetic, but very useful. Drag doesn't matter...

Well.. no more sleeps.. it's mine SWMBO took me to pick it up this morning and left with a brand new standard can (it's never been on the bike by the looks of it.. never used anyway) and my new single-sided paddock stand (reduced as I'd bought the bike from them). Also.. she left with my tank bag. I said to the guy in the shop I needed to go and grab my tank bag and he asked 'Is it magnetic'?? Yup, I said. No go.. the tank is plastic As you can imagine.. this is something I'd not anticipated Anyway.. SWMBO took that home too! They'd changed the filter and oil, put a new battery in and plonked a lovely new BT015 Bridgestone on the back. I didn't think the 014 fitted looked too bad but matey said he wasn't happy letting the bike go with it on. Result or what
Took it from there direct to Brooklands (having first topped up with gas) so job done.. initiation complete Having done over 100 miles on it now, I don't think the can is as unfriendly as I first thought. Sure.. it's not nice and quiet like the ZX9 and howls like a good'un when pushed but I've been so used to the Kwak being quiet, anything not so seemed OTT. It's not so bad just poodling around so I think I'll leave it on
The dog wasn't so sure when I got back home this afternoon.. she always runs to greet me and won't disappear until I give her my gloves. Today.. she stood there with her tail under She got my gloves and kept a safe distance
Offspring loves it and wants her phot taken on it One downer.. I presumed the rear seat cowl had a seat underneath and it doesn't In order for little-legs to go on the back, I have to buy a rear seat Hmm.. Ah well.. she rarely goes on the back now anyway but I guess I'll have to get a seat 'just in case'
Poor Kwak is outside (though under partial cover) and I have to admit I feel more than a little guilty. Must see what I can do over the next few days to make her retirement a little more comfortable

So.. there we go. I don't get much of an opportunity to go anywhere other than Brooklands on it so no nice scenic shots. My main concern is keeping it looking as it does now for as long as possible.. oh the humanities

Yes indeed. He doesn't know how I'm 'investing' it yet.. I might save that for the next time I see him! Things are 'temporarily' looking up for the Kwak too. I've found a place on ebay that will fully recon the front calipers (new pistons and seals) for £180 so.. I may 'temporarily' use the Kwak as my 'winter' bike. How posh is that Believe me.. the 955i is SO clean, it's painful and I just don't want any foreign objects on it. That said.. I ran this idea past 'the good lady' only a few moments ago and she wasn't so.. what's the word.. hmm.. sympathetic to the cause. Not entirely accurate but I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from I for one think the idea of a summer bike and a winter bike is sound but this may take all of my skills to achieve If I'd only just 'retired' an old 500.. it wouldn't be so difficult but she (and me to be honest) finds it a little difficult to come to terms with It would definitely mean less flightsim hours (on my part) so is it worth pursuing??
