I've still got my MS Sidewinder 2 Force Feedback and its still (IMHO) much better than any other joystick on the market... no stupid springs to worry about either. Just a shame they don't make them any more

Had an X52 non-pro for a few years now, and am very pleased with it overall.

Indeed Ben.. there's a good case for having this stick and keeping the pwr turned off. I had/have Sidewinder FF v1 (gameport) which sadly, from WinME onward didn't work with that OS.. a known problem which M$ either had no inclination to fix or couldn't.. the only option being to buy the v2/USB. I toyed with the idea of buying one when I recently bought my second Precision Prov1 (I prefer it to the PPro v2) but they still command quite high prices so opted for what I knew ;) Flying FS helicopters using the M$ FF with the pwr off is a great deal of fun :agree:

I was in the same position as Dave with an early Sidewinder Force feedback (great product, but not compatable with later Windows, the same was true with a wonderful pair of German rudder pedals, such is progress!) and have used a Sidewinder for about 7 years now. The throttle is starting to show signs of going, so I did some research and plumped for the 52 Pro.
The original 52 we used at Tangmere on the museum sim and they stood up pretty well, but the Pro gives much better accuracy (new sensors, apparently) which is important as I use a joystick for positioning my scenery objects.

So far, the order has not despatched (I am in no hurry, as I will not pick it up until the end of January), hopefully they are awaiting new stock!
