My M$ SidewinderPro loses the plot every now and again (my aircraft will only turn in one direction) and the only way to stop it is to disconnect the USB plug and put it back again. No amount of recalibrating sorts it.. it has to be removed and plugged back in. That doesn't seem to be the problem mogget is seeing though
When I asked this question over at Flightsim.com, someone else responded that "the plane does appear to pull slightly to the right". He didn't elaborate, but I assume this means that he was experiencing the same problem as myself....
Yes Mogget it does appear to and I'm investigating to see why but have not found a cause yet, it definitly seems to be within the yaw channel somewhere. In the meantime I suggest you null it's effects by using the Rudder trim wheel
Yup.. had a chance to fly the release model without looking at the flaps and there is a pronounced yaw to the right. It's no hassle on takeoff but a bit of a bu@@er if you want to fly in a straight line hands off. Engines are all running at the same rpm and fuel burn is even We had this years ago on the Dove.. but it flew slightly left rather than right. Not quite sure how Brian Withers dialled it out (he never said)
I think that I've found the cause, at least the visible effects have gone from my model. It's in the aircraft.cfg and I will shortly be releasing a new cfg file as well as amending the download. In the meadntime if someone would like to test this theory please replace the [fuel] section of the aircraft cfg with this:
[fuel]
//The Nimrod MR.2 has a total fuel capacity of 85840lb - 13412gal
That appears to have worked. Lined up on the runway.. took off.. climbed to 3000ft.. engaged AP HDG and ALT. When stable, disengaged HDG and it stayed bang on the heading set (I left it for 5mins). Previously, it would wander almost immediately to the right. Looks like job done sir
