My pleasure -- thanks -- though just about anything I know has been gleaned here from gurus like DaveB, NigelC, etc (sorry to anyone else who hasn't jumped to mind right now!). I agree that the 748 feels realistic, even though I've never been in or seen a real one. Have you tried the 780, the military version of the 748 (a kind of "super 748")..? I'm just getting into that now, having previously thought (wrongly) that it didn't work in FSX. But it does, so long as you sort out a way past FSX's struggle to start up the engines. Read onwards from here. Add some of the free (and impressive) RAF airfield scenery people have taken the trouble to design and post on the Web and you have a whole new circuit of sceneries to hop around.
Once again thanks everyone for your help and support, I only hope I can reciprocate at some stage.
Exactly my intention when I joined last year!

David
