Is there no FSX Harrier? I seem to remember a nice looking GR3 / SHAR (my personal favourite) but I think that was FS9.

Indeed Dave, RN Grey is clear as mud in FS  I like Fearless / Intrepid as I think they're a good match, but then I was comparing Glam with Dauntless when she was on the Tyne last year and that looks spot on too. Its a minefield

Hi Ben :hello:

Just about to download and try that new file ;)

Not sure about a native Harrier. I seem to remember the one I had being a blindin' looking model with variations up to GR7 but I'm sure it was for FS9. Sure also it was by Iris/DSB. I think Ed Walters did the smoke effect *-) I'll have to unzip it and see what's what :)

DG.. just dove in there. I didn't know there was a JF Harrier :-O

There is the UKMIL SHAR FRS1 and FA2 - both for FSX and FS9. No HUD though so it makes hovering on the approach difficult to judge to get the speed right (or it's my lack of skill) :agree: . Just flight also have a (payware) SHAR FRS1 for FSX. These are the two Sea jets I use.

For the GR9 I use the Sigma GR9. Bit of a problem with the HUD going opaque but if you turn all the lighting off, andremove a certain guage it works (think I found the fix on sim-outhouse).

UKMIL also have a GR5/7/9 for FSX (search on flightsim for it). It is a very good model, good VC and excellent flight dynamics.

I really struggled with the colour....nothing seemed right. The Island texture is photoreal so I based the rest of the ship on that and it does look a bit... "blue". tried to tone it down and match it with HMS fearless RGB colour. but it just looked odd somehow.

For my Invincible 82 model i've experimented making it slightly more grey. Still not convinced that's right but depending on what you use for the rest of the ships in your ai fleet its never going to be 100% match.

Hi Gary :hello:

Yes.. I've just found the payware one DG mentioned.. GR3 and Shar.

Like the look of that one matey. A lot less blue in the grey. Looks really nice

Might release an updated texture set down the line toning down the blue colour...then people can pick and choose what they prefer.

Still trying to create SHAR objects for the flightdeck....boats are easier nice and angular....aircraft are far too curvy!!

:agree:

You keep makin boats Gary. We've far too many aircraft and far to few ships to play with ;)

Just tried the Sigma (how did I forget that name!) Harrier and while it looks fine, it's been booted out of FSX. Will check out the UKMIL version ;)

I'm definitely sticking with boats - aircraft are too hard! (who'd have thought an ex-crab would say that!!)

But I wanted some basic SHAR objects on the flight deck otherwise she looks a bit bare. I'll keep plugging away

Just gone for the Wilco one (JustFlight) from SimMarket as I'm a GR3 fan. I'm sure I had this before but can't find any details for it so I must have imagined it
