I just spotted her presumably on the way to Southend. Also saw her about 12 months ago when I was near Doncaster heading south on the A1, later on that same day passing Duxford I saw Sally B coming in to land. At home the next day I saw the two Lancasters fly over my house I think they were heading for the Clacton air show

Seeing as I was somewhat in the area I drove up to East Midlands Aeropark last Saturday. Got stuck in an enormous traffic jam just half a mile away so decided to park illegally and leg it up the hill. Got there with a few minutes to spare! Fortunately I didn't find a ticket on my windshield or the car towed! I did get massively sunburned but seeing as it was for a good cause...

Well, I've got to be honest, most of the sunburn wasn't the Vulcan's fault. After she moved off I did a quick run-around of the Aeropark and then headed off to see if the car was still there. After establishing that I had not incurred any financial consequences I drove it to the Aeropark and into the now quickly emptying car park. I then spent most of the remaining afternoon chatting to the guys that look after XV108. They are doing a great job! A very nice display in the cabin and the airframe looks to be in great shape. Nice shot Jelle.. she looks very well displayed too. I know that complete airframes are always nice but there's much to be said for a smaller.. part airframe that can be looked after. Crikey.. even painting from the LE fwd is NOT a 5min job but it's a darned sight easier than having to look after and paint what went behind
