Another broken engine

Post by Motormouse »

This twin-jet engine made a loud bang and stopped suddenly, .....just as one would expect when a first stage compressor blade goes AWOL, also took out the IGV's and the stator rows in the casing too. The aircraft concerned landed safely with the remaining engine operating as advertised.

Well it is..........lol - I'm currently working on an Engine thats under investigation by the Adour EA & Rolls Royce, after it threw out an LP Turbine blade & made a mess on the exhaust mixer at Leuchars whilst on detachment last week.

They got the AC on the deck without any problems

I think I will stick with FS, at least if an engine blows and fails I can put it down anywhere and then go for a nice cup of tea!

I'd normally agree Jetty,

But I'm going for a flight in the Hawk this summer, now rescheduled to September 4th :crying:

I'll give my Hawk a good going over before my flight............. seeing as it only has one engine........
