No wonder it's flying tail down, there's a blooming great Sphinx hanging onto the fin. :hide:

The Sphinx and the RN? *-) :dunno: A camel would've been more fitting. Then you could ask that burning question...Why do they call camels "ships of the desert?" :wasntme:

208Sqn were born out of No.8 NAS so there's a naval connection for a start!! For a great part of their early - early middle life, they were based in Egypt and the middle east and that's where the pyramid connection comes in. I say early to early-middle life without realising we're now in 2017 so in reality.. it would be more accurate to say early life. A long serving squadron with a proud history ;) The answers are out there :lol:

You never know Peter. 208 have disbanded and re-formed a number of times over their lifetime. Fingers crossed this isn't the end ;)
